Railway Recruitment Cell Western Railway (RRC WR) has released the official notification for Act Apprentice Engagement 2026-27 under Advertisement No. RRC/WR/04/2025. A total of 5,349 Act Apprentice posts are available across 19 technical trades and 14 divisions/workshops. Eligible candidates with Matriculation (Class 10th, minimum 50% marks) and ITI (NCVT/SCVT) can apply online at www.rrc-wr.com before 23 March 2026 (05:00 PM) . Eligibility Criteria : Educational & Technical Qualification

Academic Qualification
  • Class 10th / Matriculation passed from any recognized State or Central Board.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Class 10th is mandatory. No rounding up permitted.
Technical Qualification
  • National Trade Certificate (NTC) or provisional certificate in the relevant trade from a recognized ITI.
  • Certificate must be issued by NCVT or SCVT (as per Corrigendum dated 13/03/2026).
Ineligible Candidates
  • Engineering Graduates (B.E. / B.Tech) and Diploma holders are NOT eligible under this notification.
  • They are governed under a separate apprenticeship scheme.

Selection Process : 50:50 Merit Formula (No Written Exam)

Equal 50% weightage to Matriculation & ITI marks
Class 10th Marks Calculation Total marks obtained across all subjects divided by maximum possible marks. “Best of Five” rules of State Boards are not applicable .
Tie-Breaking Rule If two candidates have identical Final Merit Score, the older candidate (as per DOB on Matriculation certificate) is ranked higher.
Document Verification (DV) Shortlisted candidates are summoned to respective Divisions / Workshops for physical DV and Medical Examination.

How to Fill RRC WR Apprentice 2026 Online Application Form

Step 1: RRC Western Railway has released the Apprentice Engagement 2026-27 Notification. Online application window is open from 21/02/2026 to 23/03/2026 (05:00 PM) .

Step 2: Visit the official portal www.rrc-wr.com and click ‘NEW REGISTRATION’ . Complete the Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification. Note your unique Portal Registration Number (Application ID).

Step 3: Read the full notification and Corrigendum (dated 13/03/2026). Verify your eligibility – trade, Class 10th minimum 50% marks, and NCVT/SCVT ITI certificate.

Step 4: Select the correct Establishment ID for RRC WR Apprentice 2026. Choose your preferred Division or Workshop in the order of preference. Ensure your trade has vacancies in the selected establishment.

Step 5: Enter exact Matriculation and ITI marks carefully – these directly determine your 50:50 merit score . Any discrepancy with physical documents causes disqualification.

Step 6: Upload scanned documents in the prescribed format: Photo (3.5×3.5 cm, JPG, 20–50 KB), Signature & Thumb Impression (JPG, 10–40 KB), Certificates in PDF (100–300 KB).

Step 7: Pay the application fee (if applicable) via Debit/Credit Card, UPI, or Net Banking before the deadline. SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates are fee-exempt.

Step 8: Submit the form, download and print the confirmation page for reference during Document Verification. Do NOT submit duplicate applications.
